The reason you got some unsolicited pagehits (and the resultant comments about "it could still be him") is that up until a couple of weeks ago I had a biking/photography blog up under the name3 heliocentric worlds.

The only reason I even came back to check was that I had people bugging me asking me why I changed my site to a music video site.

I'm surprised somebody got the name that fast...

After following some of the links that people used to get here back to their origins, I figured it had to be something like that. But thanks, Verlaine, for stopping by and clearing things up, anyway.

Apparently, when a blog is deleted by its owner, Blogger retains no record that the name has previously been used, and just shows it as "available" when queried by the sign-up procedure.

I'd certainly never want to steal a name that was already in use, and, being pretty much of a technological dolt, would have no idea how to do such a thing, anyway. It seems it was just a coincidence that I got the name "Heliocentric Worlds" right after you gave it up.

It was one of several possible names I considered, and just happened to be the first one that showed up as being available when I started typing them into Blogger.

If you have a new Web address, I'd be happy to put up a link so that your old readers can find you.

Also, as far I'm concerned, there's no such thing as an "unsolicited pagehit" -- I'm happy to have anyone look at the site. I want people to see this stuff, that's why I'm taking the time to share it. I have not made active efforts to publicize the site yet because I've been playing with the layout and just putting up a few posts just to make the place seem lived-in.

But I don't want to discourage any visitors, even if the site's still in the "soft launch" phase. Bike riders and/or photography fans are certainly welcome to enjoy the videos, too! :)

This gets funnier and funnier the more I think about it. Your site is feeding into some bike blog aggregators and has links scattered around on various esoteric music forums and on various people's blogrolls.

As you can tell by the name "Heliocentric Worlds" I was a jazz fan, although leaning more toward the free jazz/noise end of jazz, and I had posted music videos from YouTube occasionally. I can see why people would think it was me trying to change blog formats a little. Although I had often voiced firm opinions against accepting advertising (just my personal feelings) so I would have thought all the adverts would have signalled to people that it was not me.

I just checked and the other blog that I deleted at the same time as I deleted "Heliocentric Worlds" got taken over by a hardcore porno site, so I guess I am very happy that one of them got taken over by a jazz site.

The name Heliocentric Worlds should go to a jazz site anyways, I got it by trying the names of my favorite albums until one finally was accepted (I collect Sun Ra stuff).

Anyways, I do not have a new blog site right now, after years and years I am taking a break. Thanks for the Soft Machine videos, and best wishes. There is certainly not enough jazz in popular culture.
